About us
Cape Tours started with one second-hand Quantum and a simple belief: visitors deserve to see the Cape properly — not through a coach window with forty other people. Fifteen years later we still run small groups, still drive the routes ourselves, and still get genuinely excited when the whales arrive in Walker Bay.
Deon grew up on the Cape Flats and Marlene in Paarl, so the commentary runs from Table Mountain geology to where to find the best vetkoek on a Saturday morning. Between them they have hosted honeymooners, cruise passengers, school reunions and three generations of one Durban family who now refuse to holiday without us.
We are small on purpose. It means flexible days, honest advice about the weather, and a guide who learns your name before we leave the driveway.

Why choose us
Deon or Marlene personally runs almost every departure. When you phone, you speak to the people who will actually collect you — not a call centre reading from a script.
With a maximum of eight guests there are no rigid timetables. If the penguins are entertaining at Boulders, we stay. If you want twenty extra minutes at the winery, you take them.
Every tour page lists exactly what is included — entrances, tolls, tastings. The price we quote is the price you pay, and there is no pressure to buy extras along the way.
All our guides are registered tourist guides who requalify regularly, hold valid first-aid certificates and know which road to take when Chapman's Peak closes in a south-easter.
The Cape writes its own weather. If wind closes the cableway we swap in Kirstenbosch or Signal Hill at no extra cost — you get a full day, whichever way the cloud sits.
Air-conditioned minibuses serviced every 10 000 km, with seatbelts for every passenger, cold water on board and child seats fitted free when you ask.

Good to know
We collect free of charge from the City Bowl, Atlantic Seaboard, Waterfront and Southern Suburbs. Scheduled tours depart between 07:00 and 08:30 depending on the route — your exact pickup time is confirmed by phone or WhatsApp the evening before.
The Table Mountain cableway closes on windy days, so we build a backup into that tour — usually Kirstenbosch or Signal Hill — at no extra cost. For full-day tours in genuinely foul weather you can move your booking to another day free of charge, space permitting.
Send an enquiry and we confirm availability within one working day. Your place is held with a 20% deposit via EFT or secure payment link; the balance is settled on the day — card, cash or EFT, whatever suits you.
Very much so. Children under 12 travel at half price on scheduled tours, child and booster seats are fitted free of charge, and our guides have walked the penguin boardwalk with more toddlers than they can count.
Where we operate
Our depot is at the V&A Waterfront, which puts us minutes from the city centre and the N2 or N1 whichever way the day takes us. Guests are collected from their hotel or guesthouse — no meeting points, no wandering around a parking lot looking for a bus.
Cruise passengers are collected straight from the passenger terminal, and airport transfers run at any hour for early flights and late landings. Pickups outside our free zones are quoted upfront when you book, so there are never surprises on the morning.
Staying further out? We regularly collect from Somerset West, Stellenbosch and Hout Bay for day tours — just mention it in your enquiry and we will confirm any small additional fee upfront.
