Most customers ask us for a complete installation, but we regularly take on single parts of a project too — replacing worktops, moving services or refreshing tired doors.

Ask about plumbing — kitchen plumbing enquiryAdditional sockets, under-cabinet lighting, extractor hoods and cooker circuits installed by NICEIC-registered electricians, certified on completion.
Discuss electrics — kitchen electrics enquirySplashback tiling, floor tiling, vinyl and engineered wood, plus making good walls, cornices and decoration so the room is finished, not just fitted.

About the business
KitchenFitters.co.uk grew out of a small joinery workshop in Leith. Brothers Grant and Callum Mercer started out fitting kitchens for builders they trusted, and by 2007 the referrals were enough to go it alone. Nearly two decades later it's still just the two of them, a small regular crew and the same phone number.
That background shows in the work. Tenement alcoves that aren't square, larder walls that hide old pipework, new-build partitions that turn out to be nothing like the drawings — we've met them all, and we plan for them rather than discovering them mid-fit.
We don't use salespeople and we don't pass jobs to crews we've never met. The people who quote your kitchen are the people who fit it, which is why most of our work still comes from recommendations.

Your quotation itemises every stage — removal, services, cabinets, worktop, finishing — so there are no surprise extras unless something genuinely unforeseen turns up, and if it does you'll hear it from us first.
The same crew strips out your old kitchen and fits the new one. You won't have a stream of unfamiliar faces, and nobody can blame somebody else for the snag list.
Edinburgh's housing stock keeps us on our toes — tight stairwells, uneven walls and shared flues included. We survey carefully and flag anything awkward before it becomes expensive.
Gas work is done by Gas Safe registered engineers and electrical work by NICEIC-registered electricians, with certificates issued on completion — not by whoever happened to be available.
Floor protection down before the first tool bag, dust screens where rooms stay lived-in, and the site swept at the end of every day. You still have to eat while we work.
A snag visit two weeks after handover comes as standard, and our workmanship guarantee runs for five years. If a door drops or a hinge squeaks, one call sorts it.
Recent work
A small sample of recent installations. Every project below was quoted, fitted and signed off by our own team.
A tired 1990s kitchen removed from a listed tenement flat. Uneven walls were battened and levelled before the shaker units went in, with a new consumer unit and re-plastered ceiling.
A dark galley kitchen opened up with lighter wall units, an integrated washer and slimline appliances. New socket positions cleared the worktops of trailing leads.
Fitting stage of a rear extension: island with induction hob, quartz worktops templated on site, and a range cooker on a new gas line with an extractor through the roof.
Every millimetre counted in this basement flat. Tall oven housing gained storage, and a shallow-depth unit kept the original window clear over the sink.
New door fronts, worktops and splashback tiling transformed a sound but dated kitchen without moving services — a fraction of a full refit's cost and disruption.
A box room became a practical utility with plumbing for a washer and dryer, then a bespoke pantry fit-out using matching doors from the main kitchen range.

Where we work
Our workshop is just off London Road, so most of our work sits within a fifteen-mile radius of the city centre. From single flats in Marchmont to family extensions in Corstorphine, we're on familiar ground — including the stair-climbing logistics of a tenement delivery.
Further afield, we regularly fit kitchens in Musselburgh, Dalkeith, Loanhead and along the Forth towards South Queensferry. If you're slightly outside these areas, ask anyway — for larger projects we'll happily travel.
